Digital Picture Formats for your Photo Book

About resolution, format and file size

Perfect digital pictures really start with your camera settings. Take the time to know how to adjust the settings on your camera. Every camera is different. Although you can get more images on a chip or camera card when your camera is set at a lower resolution or less mega-pixels, you will not have as high a quality print. Use the highest setting and down load pictures often. Better yet, upload your pictures to Life’s Sweet and we’ll get your memories into beautiful photo books as quick as you can say, “smile.”

Resolution and Mega-pixels

So remember, the highest resolution that you can set your camera on will result in the best image quality when printing digital pictures. The highest resolution also takes up tons of memory on your memory card. If you are shooting an important event such as a wedding, don’t skimp on resolution, bump up the numbers. Get additional memory cards.

Levels of mega-pixels on your camera will dictate the quality of picture you produce. If your camera is a 4 mega-pixel camera then you can’t get a 8 mega-pixel image. The more mega-pixels your camera has the better your prints and your photo books will look.

File formats

JPEG or Tiff. JPEG is a file format most commonly used for images. It is definitely the file format to use when creating images for email or web use and for Life’s Sweet to use in creating your photo books for you.

Life’s Sweet accepts jpg (jpeg) and tiff format of scans. Please no gif, bmp, png, pdf, or PowerPoint.
